If you have fewer than 20 registered competitions, the average is based on just 1 to 7 competitions.

First of all, you need to know the competition formula in which you are taking part, we will look at 3 of them
- In stroke play, the player who hits the fewest strokes over the whole course is declared the winner.
- In Match Play, the player who wins the most holes wins the game. On an 18-hole course, for example, if you win 10 holes to your opponent's 8, you win the game.
The one most commonly used by Sunday golfers. To do this, it is essential to know the Pars of all the holes on the course. With this formula, you no longer have to mention all the shots for each hole, but only the points 'won' per hole.
- A successful Par hole gives me 2 points on my card;
- I win 1 point if I put the ball one stroke above Par ;
- I win 3 scores with a shot below Par ;
- If I finish a hole 2 shots under par, I score 4 points for that hole.
With the Stableford method, the player who scores the most points wins the game.

A calculator to keep things simple
To calculate your disability, you need the following information:
- The Par of the course on which you are playing your competition
- The SSS of the course (Standard evaluates the difficulty of a course for a player with 0 handicap. If the SSS is less than par, the course is considered easy and vice versa)?
- Course Slope (measures the difficulty of the course, the average being 113, a greater slope means that the course will be more difficult than the average).
- Your initial disability (Index)
(Index x Slope) / 113 + (SSS - Par) = playing handicap. Index = handicap x 113 -SSS + par / slope.
